Pecchia Communications Announces Expansion

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (July 18, 2011) – Principals of Pecchia Communications LLC and Strategic Communications, two Youngstown-area public relations and marketing firms, announced today that they have combined operations.
The joined organization will retain the Pecchia Communications name and its Canfield, Ohio headquarters with Dan Pecchia as president and Strategic founder Aundréa Cika as public relations strategist.
“This combination makes us stronger and more capable in a fast-paced, challenging business climate,” said Pecchia. “It also gives us more capacity for growth.”
Cika added, “Our clients will be able to count on us now for expertise in a wider range of areas.”
Terms of the combination were not disclosed.
Pecchia Communications was established in November 2005 by Pecchia, who was previously a partner at Innis Maggiore Group, a director at Ira Thomas Associates and business editor at The Vindicator. Clients include Whirlpool Corp., Akzo Nobel Paints, Harrington Hoppe & Mitchell, The Timken Company, Aim NationaLease and other Youngstown-area organizations, with a primary focus on public relations, writing and change management.
Strategic was founded in February 2007 by Cika, whose 20-plus years in journalism and marketing have included work in Washington, D.C., with Browning Communications, a national PR firm, and the National Mining Association, a national trade group. Clients of Strategic have included Ballet Western Reserve, Montessori School of the Mahoning Valley, Alzheimers Assistance & Referral Network, SDS Logistics Services and others. Cika, who is executive director of PolishYoungstown, brings strengths in non-profit branding, small business marketing and event planning.
