Youngstown PR Consultant Speaks at YSU

March 01, 2011

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Dan Pecchia, a Youngstown public relations consultant, spoke on public relations today to the Youngstown State University Chapter of the American Marketing Association.

His presentation to a group of 30 students and professors at the Williamson College of Business Administration was entitled, “Power of PR: How Organizations in Youngstown Use Public Relations to Advance Their Goals.”

Pecchia, president of Pecchia Communications, reviewed case studies of successful PR campaigns in the Mahoning Valley and compared the credibility and economy of such efforts to those of more traditional campaigns that feature paid advertising.

Pecchia holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Youngstown State.  While majoring in English and minoring in journalism there during the 1980s, he was the sports editor for The Jambar for a year and the paper’s managing editor for two years. He was also elected to the YSU chapter of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society.

Pecchia has worked in northeastern Ohio’s news and PR circles for almost 30 years and writes a blog about marketing and PR issues at www.pecchiacomm.com.
